The Bowling Green State University chapter of the American Marketing Association (BGAMA) is eager and excited for the upcoming 2009-2010 academic year. Being named one of the top 24 chapters in the world at the AMA International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans this past March has motivated the new Executive Board to take BGAMA to even greater heights this next year and offer experiences to students that will prepare them for the future.

BGAMA has won numerous awards in the past five years at the AMA International Collegiate Conference, establishing itself as one of the top collegiate chapters in the world. While being ranked among the best chapters in the world it is no surprise that BGAMA is one of the largest and most active student organizations on the BGSU campus. We were recently awarded BGSU’s “Most Outstanding Student Organization” in April 2009. The Executive Board of BGAMA is dedicated to preparing students for the future by offering students of all majors an opportunity to develop professionally, network with professionals in different fields of interest, interact socially with other members, and learn by experiences that you cannot have in the classroom.

The fall semester is already packed with BGAMA events to look forward to that will give members a chance to network, take a trip to Nashville, TN to tour marketing firms, develop professionally at resume workshops and etiquette dinners, and make memories that will last a lifetime. BGAMA’s Consulting Committee recently partnered with Wood Lane Industries in Bowling Green to develop a marketing strategy for their services. The Consulting Committee is currently looking for members and joining would allow you to use the marketing skills learned in the classroom to benefit a local organization in need.

Thank you to all of our dedicated members for your passion and involvement because you truly are the reason for our success. If you have never experienced BGAMA, I encourage you to come visit one of our meetings or events and see what BGSU’s Most Outstanding Organization is all about- you won’t regret it! We welcome students of all majors. Your decision to join BGAMA will benefit your career more that you can believe by preparing you for the future after graduation.

If you have any questions about BGAMA or an event please feel free to contact Megan Bockbrader at mbockbr@bgsu.edu or 419-351-2430.
